A streak counts a team's games in a row this season, entering its next game, and is listed from 3 games. A point streak is a run without a regulation loss; winless counts losses in regulation, overtime or a shootout. Totals use the final score, so a shootout winner adds one goal; scored first and power-play goals leave the shootout out. Regular season only. Every team's current result streak is in the form table.

Guide

How NHL team streaks are counted

A win streak counts wins in a row, including wins in overtime and shootouts. A point streak is a run without a loss in regulation, so an overtime or shootout loss keeps it going, and a winless streak counts every game without a win. The longest active win streak belongs to the Dallas Stars, at 4.

Team streaks count this season’s regular season only. Totals use the final score, so a shootout winner adds a goal; scoring first and power-play goals leave the shootout out. Each team’s current result streak, the W3 or L2 in the standings, is in the form table, and individual runs are on player streaks.

What is the longest win streak in NHL history?

The Pittsburgh Penguins won 17 straight in 1992-93. The longest run without a loss belongs to the 1979-80 Philadelphia Flyers: 35 games, 25 wins and 10 ties, from the days before overtime decided every game.

What do over and under 5.5 mean?

Both teams’ goals added together. 5.5 is the most common total line, so “over 5.5 in 4 straight” means four games in a row with six goals or more.
