NHL save percentage leaders
Save percentage is saves divided by shots on goal: a goalie who stops 28 of 30 shots posts .933 for the night. The league average this season is .890. Over a full season, a gap of .010 (.910 against .900) is roughly the difference between a good starter and a backup.
Small samples mislead, so the leader list needs a minimum of games; lower it to see everyone. For shot quality, compare with goals saved above expected and the save percentage by zone.
